Woman in trouble after lover dies 'during the act'

A woman has landed in trouble over claims that a man she was sleeping with died under unclear circumstances.

Winfred Mueni was arraigned following the death of Titus Njoroge Kimani in Baba Dogo estate in Ruaraka, Nairobi, on September 22, 2023.

At the time of the incident, it is said Kimani became unconscious during the act with the accused before he was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Reportedly, the deceased and Mueni, who had known each other for a while, met at his house on the fateful day. It is alleged Kimani started having difficulty breathing during the act; he started coughing and became weak.

She told the detectives that he became weaker and collapsed on her, hitting his head on the bed frame, before falling comatose.

Reportedly, Mueni rushed out and called for help and Kimani’s colleagues came and found him unconscious and naked.

Kimani was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The colleagues and Kimani’s relatives escorted Mueni to Ruaraka police station where the matter was reported.

When she was arraigned at the Makadara Law Courts, Mueni denied the charges and was released on a bond of Sh500,000 with a surety of a like sum.

The case will be mentioned on February 22 before the hearing starts on May 30, 2024.
